The CWU has made significant progress in advocating to secure and enhance your terms and conditions of employment during the negotiations for the NBN Enterprise Agreement 2025–2028. We have reached an in-principle agreement on the following offer to be presented:
1. Wage Increases:
- 4% annual increases from July 2025, July 2026, and July 2027 (up from the original 3.4% offer for the third year). A total wage increase of approximately 12% over three years, achieved through persistent advocacy.
2. Enhanced Terms and Conditions:
- Meal allowance increased to $25 (up from the current $20.67).
- Superannuation to be paid on all paid leave, including parental leave and workers’ compensation.
- Introduction of Special Leave for employees.
- Retention of all existing entitlements under the Enterprise Agreement.
- Recognition of flexible and hybrid work arrangements, ensuring they are reflected in the new agreement.
3. Additional Commitments Secured by the CWU:
- A classification review to promote career progression opportunities, address discrepancies in work types and classifications and prepare for future workforce requirements.
- A commitment to review rest periods after overtime, with discussions to commence within three months of the new agreement taking effect.
Next Steps
Based on feedback collected so far, we believe this offer represents a fair and reasonable outcome in line with member expectations for the next three years. However, the decision is ultimately yours, and we are here to support you.
The Union remains committed to ensuring your voices are heard and your interests protected. Here’s what we’ll do next:
- Collect and analyse your feedback on the offer.
- Advocate for further improvements arising out of feedback, as appropriate
- Review revised drafting of the Enterprise Agreement to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Ensure commitments outside the Enterprise Agreement are captured appropriately and work with NBN to structure discussions, particularly on the job banding review, to ensure it delivers tangible benefits for members.
