In light of the recent severe weather event affecting the Mid-North Coast of New South Wales, your Union is here to support you.
We know many members and their families have been impacted — with homes, vehicles and essential household items damaged, and power outages resulting in the loss of food and other essentials. As you begin to assess the damage and take the first steps toward recovery, we want to help ease some of that immediate burden.
The CWU is offering emergency financial assistance payments of up to $1,000 to eligible members who have been directly affected by this event.
This emergency support is designed to act as a temporary stopgap for those awaiting insurance assessments or formal recovery support, and can be used for essential recovery costs including:
- Damage to your primary residence
- Damage to essential personal vehicles
- Loss or damage to clothing, appliances, or other vital household contents
- Loss of perishable food due to extended power outages
To be eligible, you’ll need to:
- Confirm that you were directly impacted by the Mid-North Coast weather event
- Declare that you have not yet received (and are not imminently expecting) insurance compensation
All claims will be assessed by the Branch Secretary and processed as quickly as possible.
