Switch to Direct Debit
Secure your membership
When paying via payroll deductions, your employer has the ability to cease making contributions on your behalf, at any time.
If they choose not to pay your contributions for even a single payment, which has occurred in the past, this will impact on your access to:
- Union advice, advocacy and representation
- Legal protections when engaging in lawful Union activity
- Free journey cover income protection insurance, emergency ambulance transport and CWU Family Mortality Assistance Benefits
- Ambassador Card membership rewards – which saves CWU members an average of $3761 per year on groceries, petrol, shopping, entertainment, leisure and travel
Furthermore, when your employer makes a Union contribution on your behalf, they take a share of that payment – you’re essentially handing back a portion of the wages they have paid you.
Your membership should never be placed in your employer’s hands. Make the switch to Direct Debit and take control, today.
Union contributions paid by direct debit also extend your mortality assistance benefits to your eligible spouse and are 100% tax deductible.
By setting up a direct debit from your bank account, your contributions will be deducted fortnightly, on pay-day.
By setting up a direct debit from your credit card, your contributions will be deducted at a frequency of your choosing – either quarterly, bi-annually, or up-front annually, which also attracts a 10% discount .
We will issue you with a contributions statement at the end of the financial year, enabling you to make your claim on your tax return.
