Legal Services
As a CWU member, your membership entitles you to a range of free and discounted legal services.
Some legal work may involve our legal representatives acting in a matter on a “no win no fee” basis – broadly meaning that our representatives will act and not charge a CWU member for legal services unless there is a successful conclusion to the matter.
Members can access advice and representation across the following areas of law:
- Wills and estate matters
- Free standard wills of up to 1.5 pages in length for CWU members and their partners
- Non standard wills, including wills longer than 1.5 pages and wills involving residual clauses will be undertaken on a fee paying basis at a discounted rate exclusive to CWU members and their partners.
- Probate and administration of estate matters
- Succession Act litigation arising from contested estates
- Personal injury
- Workers’ Compensation
- Dust diseases
- Motor vehicle accident
- Public liability
- Product liability
- Medical negligence
- Property law
- Conveyancing work with respect to the sale and purchase of properties
- Other associated property law
Although our legal services providers do not directly deal in matters related to family and criminal law, they maintaint relationships with solicitors who do.
To access these services, speak to your AUR or your Branch Official for a referral.
