Minister and Senior Union officers to inspect Australia Post operations

The Hon. Senator Stephen Conroy, Deputy Leader of the Government in the Senate and Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy will be inspecting Australia Post operations with Senior CEPU Officers this coming Tuesday 24 March 2009, in his capacity as the Minister responsible for Australia Post.

These inspections will provide an opportunity for the Minister to be familiarised with such important Postal Service operations and at the same time enable him to meet some of the staff who are responsible for providing such Postal Services to the Nation and at times, under all kind of trying circumstances.

Any member(s) employed at the workplaces to be visited are encouraged to take this opportunity to voice any concerns they may have directly with the Minister during these visits.

The Minister will be accompanied to the following workplaces by CEPU State Secretary, Jim Metcher and CEPU Federal Secretary, Ed Husic.

9:00am – Sydney Parcel Facility, 12 Hume Highway Chullora

11:00am – Parramatta CBD Business Centre, 153 Macquarie Street Parramatta

2:00pm – Sydney Gateway and Transport Facilities, 21 – 65 Factory Street Clyde

4:00pm – Sydney West Letters Facility, 2 Weeroona Road Strathfield
