Telstra industrial action

Members are advised that Telstra has been informed that protected industrial action is to be carried out by CEPU members in the company this week.

The protected action is as follows:

24 hour stoppage of work for CEPU members employed in Network Construction
From 12:01am until 11:59pm Thursday 25 February 2010.

and

24 hour stoppage of work for CEPU members employed in Network Construction
From 12:01am until 11:59pm Friday 26 February 2010.

Overtime and Recall bans remain in place company-wide across Telstra until further notice by the CEPU.

All CEPU members are hereby advised that the abovementioned stoppages and bans to be undertaken by members against Telstra are authorised and Protected Industrial Action.  

Note: CEPU members are not required to individually provide prior notice to their team leaders and/or managers of their intentions to participate in protected industrial action.
 

Parramatta Protest Rally

All Network Construction members located in the Sydney metropolitan area are encouraged to attend a protest rally at the Sydney Offices of Telstra Network Construction.

The rally will commence at 10:00am sharp on Friday 26 February 2010 outside Network Construction offices at 18 Smith Street Parramatta.


IMPORTANT NOTICE: To take part in this CEPU authorised Protected Industrial Action, you must be:

1. Currently employed by Telstra Corporation.

2. A current member of the CEPU – if you are not a member you can join now online at www.cepu.org or call (02) 9893 7822 for further assistance to be eligible.

3. Employed under the terms and conditions of the current Enterprise Agreement (EA) or an Australian Workplace Agreement (AWA) which has already passed it’s nominal expiry date.

Emergency and life threatening services should always be carried out. You need to contact your Union if you are unsure about the nature of the work assigned to you during Protected Industrial Action periods.

Members are to contact their Union immediately if any manager threatens to injure your employment in any way for taking part in Protected Industrial Action authorised by your Union.
