NEGOTIATIONS BEGIN
Negotiations commenced with Australia Post last week with an initial three day session held in Melbourne. Your Union presented an overview of matters of importance.
Several sub-committees to deal with specific issues have been established. These sub-committees, which will include direct member involvement, will deal with issues in areas such as the Retail Services Transformation, Call centres, Transport and Line Haul and the technical workforce.

INCOME PROTECTION
As part of the three day session, a presentation was given by an organisation that provides income protection insurance in a number of industries.
Many members have indicated interest in an income protection scheme of some form being included as part of a new agreement.
Any proposed details for an income protection scheme will be provided to members for feedback a they become available.
NEXT ROUND OF NEGOTIATIONS
Payroll and call centre issue were the focus of this week’s negotiation meetings, with a further round of negotiations scheduled for next week after the Easter break.
EBA8 WEBSITE ACTIVE – www.eba8.org
At last week’s launch of the EBA8 campaign website, we received such an influx of visitors and that it caused the survey function to crash. This indicated a high take up of the online survey. We quickly implemented a fix to get the survey back up and running and have collected a large number of responses since.
You are encouraged to visit the website www.eba8.org regularly from your PC or even from your mobile phone where you will receive the most up to date information on the progress with your EBA8 campaign.
However, the website is not just a one-way communication street from the Union to you. It contains features allowing you to update important contact information with the Union, completing online polls and surveys, downloading resources and tools for keeping your workplace organised and very importantly – a feature that provides the ability to upload any EBA8 related material that you receive from Australia Post or other parties, even directly from your smartphone.
