Air quality advice – Wednesday 11 December 2019

Updated 8:28am

Air quality across the entire state appears to be improving. As NSW Environment and ACT Health report small pm2.5 articles at rolling 24-hour averages – this remains at dangerous levels.

However, visibility levels are averaged hourly and have dramatically improved which will have an immediate impact on real-time pm2.5 values.

The forecast at the moment is for “fair” conditions. In these conditions, NSW Health advises “Air quality is acceptable. However, there may be a health concern for very susceptible people.

Given this, at this stage, members should attend for duties as normal. For members with pre-existing heart or lung conditions – you should avoid any strenuous outdoor activities and seek indoor duties. However, if any member feels that their health and safety is being affected due to the air quality in their particular area of outdoor duties, request indoor duties or go home.

We will update this thread here, and on our website throughout the day if our advice changes.
