Air quality alert – 20 December 2019

Air quality in areas in and around the entire Sydney metropolitan region, the Central Coast, the upper and lower Hunter regions, Bargo, Oakdale, Wollongong, Bathurst, Orange, Armidale, Narrabri, Tamworth, Goulburn and Wagga in NSW along with Monash, Florey and Canberra in the ACT are at dangerous levels today. It is UNSAFE to be working outside. Members working in these areas should request indoor duties or go home.

Those in and around Coffs Harbour, Gunnedah, Albury, Kembla Grange and Albion Park South regions should limit strenuous outdoor activity and take extra rest breaks and keep a close eye on updates to conditions as they may worsen, Those in these areas with existing respiratory or heart conditions, request indoor duties or go home.

Whilst conditions are better across the rest of our regions, if any member feels that their health and safety is being affected due to the air quality in their particular area of outdoor duties they should request indoor duties or go home also.
