Tragic motor vehicle accident involves husband and wife CEPU members

It is with sadness that we inform all Union members of a tragic motor vehicle accident on Saturday 2 April 2011 at Fairfield that has caused serious personal injuries to two long standing CEPU members.

The two CEPU members and husband and wife team being Liem and Tam Le, who are both employed as mail officers at the Australia Post Sydney West Letters Facility.

Tam has been released from hospital with a broken collar bone along with some additional minor injuries but returns each day to hospital to be by the bedside of her husband Liem who is suffering from head injuries and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Unfortunately Liem’s brother Qang, who was also a passenger in the motor vehicle during the accident has tragically lost his life.

State Secretary Jim Metcher and Organiser Gil Enzon have both attended the hospital to offer support and assistance of the Union where possible for the Le family.

We ask all Union members who know both Liem and Tam to also offer their support and assistance given the tough road ahead with recovering from their personal injuries and the sad loss of an immediate family member under tragic circumstances.
