Your Union would like to take this opportunity to thank all members and those who are local Union representatives for their hard work in encouraging members throughout all workplaces to cast their important vote in this crucial EBA8 ballot which has resulted in a new EBA8 that will provide security and certainty for members as we face tough economic times, and irrespective of who forms Government at the forthcoming Federal Election.

Overwhelming Yes Vote despite misleading misinformation campaign by Victorian Branch and National Union Officials

The overwhelming YES vote is a clear endorsement of EBA8 by the majority of workers in every state and territory. This is despite a vigorous misleading campaign led by both the Victorian and Divisional (National) Union leadership in yet another failed attempt to mislead members into supporting their political self interests ahead of the needs of postal workers and their families.

It clearly demonstrates that the Victorian Branch and National Office are simply out of touch with the Australia Post membership.

Smear campaign predicted to continue by Victorian and National Officials

Despite the reckless and irresponsible behavior of Victorian and National officials, your NSW/ACT Branch stayed on course to achieve an EBA8 that delivered what members were seeking in terms of security – certainty  – pay.

Unfortunately, the smear campaigns filled with false and fanciful allegations have commenced against some CEPU State Branch Secretaries, their teams of officials and their membership all because of the endorsement and support that has followed for the EBA8.

We would not be surprised if the smear campaign extends to NSW and the ACT. If this does occur, we ask members to remain vigilant and ignore any such campaign of misinformation by these extremists which is designed to discredit and distract your Union officials as we begin the job of implementing EBA8 and working towards extracting the maximum benefits of what the Agreement provides for all members and their families.

The sad reality of this entire situation is that unlike our members in NSW and the ACT – Union members in Victoria will continue to be neglected by the rabble at both the Victorian and National level who are just so out of touch with the Australia Post membership in general and who are only focused on their own extreme political agenda at the expense of the paying members that they purport to represent.

Members are responsible for achieving this resounding result

Once again thank you to all our members who took an interest and participated in the democratic voting process for locking in EBA8. The record ballot return sends a clear message to Australia Post that our members take their entitlements, conditions, job security, pay and superannuation very seriously.

CEPU members are congratulated in achieving this eighth successive EBA and, a history making first back-to-back EBA in Australia Post.
