Following a string of hold-ups and robberies in our post offices, the NSW Branch has led an offensive against Australia Post in relation to its security procedures in Retail.
One particular Canberra-based outlet had been subjected to two armed hold ups in as many weeks, lead to NSW Branch Secretary Jim Metcher requiring full-time security personnel to be posted at the outlet until a thorough security review at the office is finalised.
Your Union is continuing discussions with Australia Post at the highest level in to security arrangements at post offices across the country.
