Australia Post has been forced to take drastic steps in an attempt to recruit new Posties in the light of implementation of their Future Delivery Design. At this year’s Sydney Careers Expo, targeted at school students in years 10 and 12 about to enter the workforce or begin their higher educations, Australia Post’s expo stall was somewhat disturbing, but unsurprising.
Australia Post management are again attempting to override medical certificates to avoid paying sick leave and are employing bully boy tactics to get there way. This time the worker concerned was told 6 months down the track that the 2 days sick leave she applied for in November 2007 had not been approved and that the days would be deducted
The CEPU wants to thank members for their support of the Union’s stand to secure more workplace protection through the introduction of a Common Law Agreement to work alongside any future EBA7 agreement. Yesterday (8 April 2008) the Union has learned of Australia Post management issuing a SGF Public Holiday/Overtime Survey form to all employees for completion, who are located at Sydney Gateway Facility, Express Mail Service and Sydney Parcel Facility. Australia Post management made no mention of their intentions of surveying employees at SGF/EMS or SPF during the meeting held with your
